Ashok Leyland, the commercial vehicle manufacturer, witnessed a rise in share price on Thursday after it has reported an increase of 41% in sales in June 2015 to 10,461 units as against 7,411 units sold in the same period of last year. The company experienced a rise of 46% in its M&HCV products segment to 8,048 units in June.
The company's large commercial vehicle (LCV) witnessed a rise of 26% to 2,413 units in June.
Shares of the company gained Rs 0.75, or 1.01%, to trade at Rs 74.85. The total volume of shares traded was 633,522 at the BSE (10.15 a.m., Thursday).
Total volume of shares traded on the bourses today was higher by 126.65% to 8,776,188 compared with 22-day average volume of 3,872,150.
