Andhra Bank, the public sector lender, witnessed a sharp rise in share price on Monday after the bank reported a sharp rise of 2.10 times in fourth quarter profit. The bank reported a profit of Rs 1,852.40 million for the quarter ended Mar. 31, 2015, compared with Rs 880.80 million, a year ago.
Quarterly income totalled at Rs 46.99 billion, an increase of 15.80% over Rs 40.58 billion in the same period a year ago.
Shares of the bank are trading at Rs 78.20, up Rs 3.25, or 4.34% at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Monday at 1:13 p.m.
The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs 79.60 and low of Rs 73.55. The total volume of shares traded at the BSE is 751,698.
