Allahabad Bank, the public sector lender witnessed a rise in share on Friday after reporting a strong growth in quarterly earnings.
The bank's net profit increased 28.45% to Rs 2.03 billion for the quarter ended Mar. 31, 2015 as compared to Rs 1.58 billion in the same period last year.
Total income increased by 2.92% to Rs 53.91 billion for the quarter ended Mar. 31, 2015 as compared to Rs 52.38billion in the same period last year.
Shares of bank are trading at Rs 101.20, up Rs 2.05, or 2.07% at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Friday at 1:35 p.m. The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs 103.70 and low of Rs 99.25.
Total volume of shares traded on the bourses today was higher by 238.86% to 5,684,791 compared with 22-day average volume of 1,677,645.
