Aban Offshore, one of the leading offshore drilling contractors, announced that the company has received a letter of award worth Rs 3.25 billion from ONGC.

This order is for deployment of jack-up rig Aban II for a period of 3 years. Contract is expected to commence during the first quarter of calendar year 2016, the company said.

Aban Offshore is engaged in the business of providing offshore drilling and production services. The company's operating segments include offshore oil drilling and production services, and wind power generation.

Shares of the Aban Offshore gained Rs 1.50, or 0.65%, to trade at Rs 233.35 at the BSE (Monday).
