European stock markets settled higher on Friday, modestly recovering from a selloff spurred by U.S. political drama that dragged major regional benchmarks into the red for the week.
Europe's leading Blue-chip index, EURO STOXX 50 rose 24.79 points or 0.70 percent to end at 3,587.01. UK's benchmark index FTSE 100 went up to 34.29 points or 0.46 percent to close at 7,470.71.
Germany's benchmark index DAX gained 48.63 points or 0.39 percent to end at 12,638.69. French benchmark index CAC 40 gained 34.67 points or 0.66 percent to end at 5,324.40.
