European stock markets settled higher on Monday after centrist presidential candidate, Emmanuel Macron, secured the most votes in the first round of the French election.
Europe's leading Blue-chip index, EURO STOXX 50 rose 137.11 points or 3.99 percent to settle at 3,577.38. UK's benchmark index FTSE 100 went up 150.13 points or 2.11 percent to close at 7,264.68.
Germany's benchmark index DAX gained 406.41 points or 3.37 percent to end at 12,454.98. French benchmark index CAC 40 rose 209.65 points or 4.14 percent to end at 5,268.85.
