Asian stock markets are trading higher on Tuesday after Wall Street steadied and the dollar bounced from a four-month-low, as concern over Donald Trump's setback on his healthcare reform bill gave away to tentative hopes for the U.S. President's planned stimulus policies.

Japan's benchmark index, Nikkei 225 went up 212.29 points or 1.12 percent to trade at 19,197.88. Hong Kong's Hang Seng went up 132.32 points or 0.55 percent to trade at 24,326.02. Singapore's Straits Times gained 21.39 points or 0.68 percent to trade at 3,148.27.

South Korea's KOSPI rose 3.14 points or 0.15 percent to trade at 2,158.80. Taiwan's TAIEX went up 19.58 points or 0.2 percent to trade at 9,896.35.

On the other hand, China's benchmark index, Shanghai Composite declined 13.82 points or 0.42 percent to trade at 3,253.13.
