WPI inflation rises to 1.88% in July'17

  Wholesale price inflation (WPI) in India stood at 1.88% in July 2017. WPI inflation was at 0.90% in the previous month and negative 0.63% during the corresponding month of the previous year.

Primary articles inflation was came at 0.46% in July as compared to 3.86% lower in the previous month. Manufactured products inflation came at 2.18% in July compared to 2.27% in the last month.

Inflation for fuel and power segment came at 4.37% in July as compared to 5.28% for the previous month.

Food inflation came at 2.15% in July against 3.47% lower in the previous month. Vegetable inflation came at 21.95% in July against 21.16% lower in the last month.

Onion prices inflation came at negative 9.50% during the month compared with 9.47% lower in the last month. Potato inflation came at negative 42.45% in July compared with 47.32% lower in the last month.

Prices for non-food articles came at negative 6.32% lower in July compared with 5.15% lower in the last month.

Eggs, meat and fish inflation 3.30% in July compared with 1.92% lower in the previous month.

Build up inflation rate in the financial year so far was 0.62% compared to a build up rate of 3.81% in the corresponding period of the previous year.
