Consumer price inflation in India, as represented by Consumer Price Index (CPI), increased to 3.77% in September from 3.69% in the previous month. In September 2017, CPI inflation was at 3.28%. Consumer Food Price Index (CFPI) rise to 0.51% from 1.21% negative in the previous month. In September 2017, CFPI inflation was at 1.25%.
Food and beverages price inflation stood at 1.08%, while prices of pan, tobacco and intoxicants went up to 5.57%.
Clothing and footwear price inflation has recorded a rise of 4.64% in prices.
Fuel and light inflation has seen increase of 8.47%. Household goods and services inflation was 4.88%.
Health segment inflation was 5.90%. Transport and communication gained in inflation of 6.42%.
