Consumer price inflation in India, as represented by Consumer Price Index (CPI), increased to 3.31% in October from 3.70% in the previous month. In October 2017, CPI inflation was at 3.58%. Consumer Food Price Index (CFPI) negative at 0.86% from 0.51% in the previous month. In October 2017, CFPI inflation was at 1.90%.
Food and beverages price inflation stood at 0.14% negative, while prices of pan, tobacco and intoxicants went up to 6.13%.
Clothing and footwear price inflation has recorded a rise of 3.55% in prices.
Fuel and light inflation has seen increase of 8.55%. Household goods and services inflation was 6.06%.
Health segment inflation was 7.92%. Transport and communication gained in inflation of 7.72%.
