The international crude oil price of Indian basket declined 0.63% to USD 50.44 a barrel (bbl) on March 17, 2017 as against USD 50.76 a bbl on March 16, 2017.

In rupee terms, the price of Indian basket decreased to Rs 3,305.67 a bbl on March 17, 2017 as compared to Rs 3,318.91 a bbl on March 16, 2017.

Rupee closed weaker at Rs 65.54 per USD on March 17, 2017 as compared to Rs 65.38 per USD on March 16, 2017.

Local stock markets dropped on Monday erasing earlier gains. At 11.05 a.m, the Sensex was trading down 134.92 points or 0.46% at 29,514.07 with 19 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 40.25 points or 0.44% at 9,119.80 with 35 components falling.
