Suzlon Energy has filed for voluntary liquidation of its Brazilian subsidiary 'Suzlon Energia Eolica do Brasil' (SEOB). This decision was taken after carefully considering all options and as a consequence of multiple factors that are unique to Brazil. The decision does not, in any way, alter Suzlon's global operations strategy.
Commenting on the announcement, the company spokesperson said, "We believe that this is a responsible decision for the benefit of long-term sustainability of the company and its shareholders.
Shares of the company declined Rs 0.2, or 1.05%, to settle at Rs 18.90. The total volume of shares traded was 3,313,813 at the BSE (Friday).
