Persistent Systems has bagged an order from the Ohio Department of Commerce through competitive bid process. The Ohio Department of Commerce has selected Persistent Systems to design and build the e-licensing system for tracking various industry licenses required by the Ohio Medical Marijuana Control Program.

The system, expected to go live in early 2018, will integrate with the State's larger e-Licensing platform as well as the State's payment gateway (CBOSS). The company will leverage its collaborative development center in Dublin, Ohio to set up the team.

Sudhir Kulkarni, President Digital at Persistent (Q,N,C,F)* Systems, said, ''The eLicensing platform is another great example of how smart government initiatives are embracing digital transformation for more efficient workflow. It also shows the high level of integration required to work alongside other existing systems and how an agile and innovative approach to development can bring speed to even the most stringent programs of the state.''

Shares of the company gained Rs 1.25, or 0.2%, to trade at Rs 619.90. The total volume of shares traded was 651 at the BSE (9.59 a.m., Thursday).
