L&T Construction wins order worth Rs 15.76 bn

Larsen & Toubro (L&T), an engineering and construction conglomerate, today announced that the construction arm of L&T has won orders worth Rs 15.76 billion across various business segments in October 2014.

The power transmission & distribution business has secured new orders worth Rs 11.64 billion. A major order has been secured from the Madhyanchal Vidyut Vitaran Nigam under the R-APDRP scheme. The order is for system strengthening and augmentation of power supply networks for Lucknow with SCADA compatibility to improve efficiency and power quality.

The project is funded by the Power Finance Corporation. The scope includes construction of 33/11kV substations, renovation and modernization of existing substations, 11kV distribution lines, distribution transformer centres, underground cabling, installation of ring main units and electronic energy meters.

The Business also bagged an order from the West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company  for the supply, erection, testing and commissioning of a 33/11kV power distribution network for augmenting rural electricity infrastructure and household electrification for prospective consumers covering the districts of Nadia, 24 Parganas (North) and Cooch Behar in the state of West Bengal under 12th Plan of RGGVY Scheme. The project is funded by the Rural Electricity Corporation.

The water & renewable energy business has won orders including add-ons worth Rs 3.04 billion. Additional orders worth Rs 1.08 billion have been received from various ongoing jobs of the Heavy Civil Infrastructure Business.

Shares of the company gained Rs 5.95, or 0.36%, to trade at Rs 1,664.45. The total volume of shares traded was 31,655 at the BSE (10.13 a.m., Wednesday).
