L&T Construction bags orders worth Rs 20.46 bn

The construction arm of Larsen & Toubro (L&T), an engineering and construction conglomerate, has won orders worth Rs 20.46 billion across various business segments.

The power transmission & distribution business has won engineering, procurement and construction orders worth Rs 8.26 billion. The scope of work includes construction of projects for rural electrification under the Integrated power development scheme, extra high voltage substations and overhead transmission lines across various locations in India.

The heavy civil infrastructure business has secured a prestigious order worth Rs 6.75 billion in the metro sector. The scope of the work primarily includes the construction of elevated viaducts and elevated stations.

The building & factories business has bagged a residential project worth Rs 4.34 billion from a renowned client. The scope of work includes engineering, procurement and construction of three towers each of G+30 floors, with 2 levels of common basement and other ancillary facilities.

The transportation infrastructure business has secured additional orders worth Rs 1.11 billion in its various ongoing projects.

Shares of the company gained Rs 9.7, or 0.67%, to trade at  Rs 1,465.00.  The total volume of shares traded  was  9,085 at the BSE (9.40 a.m., Thursday).
