Larsen & Toubro (L&T), an engineering and construction conglomerate, announced that the power transmission and distribution business of L&T Construction has won orders worth Rs 8.64 billion in the Middle East market from their key stakeholder, Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation 'KAHRAMAA' for its ongoing Qatar Electricity Transmission Network Expansion Plan-Phase XII.

The order encompasses the engineering, procurement and construction of two substation packages. The first package includes upgradation and strengthening of two 400kv substations and the extension of a 132kv substation while the second package is for the constriction of four new 66kv substations.

Shares of the company gained Rs 13.05, or 0.8%, to trade at Rs 1,638.65. The total volume of shares traded was 80,405 at the BSE (11.05 a.m., Wednesday).
