Himachal Futuristic Communications (HFCL), a leading integrated telecom solutions provider, has received advance purchase orders worth Rs 3.05 billion and Rs 2.78 billion approx. aggregating to Rs 5.83 billion from Bharat Broadband Network Nigam, New Delhi vide its two letters both dated gth July, 2018 respectively for survey, planning, supply, installation, end-to-end integration, testing and commissioning, of Optical Fibre Cable (OFC) GPON network and Radio Network, Operation and Maintenance for a period of eight years and facilitating services provisioning of the created network in the State of Punjab under BharatNet Phase- II programme of Government of India.
Under this Turnkey Project, around 3224 Gram Panchayats in 36 Blocks will get Broadband connectivity.
BharatNet Programme forms one of the Key Pillars of Digital India Program. It is a project of national importance, envisage to connect & provide broadband connectivity at around 2,50,500 Gram Panchayats in the country.
Shares of the company gained Rs 0.75, or 2.5%, to trade at Rs 30.80. The total volume of shares traded was 1,305,687 at the BSE (2.36 p.m., Tuesday).
