HDFC Bank, a leading private sector lender, today reported a growth of 18.25% in net profit for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2017. During the quarter, the net profit rose to Rs 39.90 billion as compared to Rs 33.74 billion in the same period last year.
Total income grew 14.30% to Rs 215.60 billion over Rs 188.62 billion in the same period a year ago.
Provisions and contingencies for the quarter ended March 31, 2017 were Rs 12.62 billion as against Rs 6.62 billion.
Shares of the bank gained Rs 7.8, or 0.53%, to trade at Rs 1,469.75. The total volume of shares traded was 216,740 at the BSE (1.42 p.m., Friday).
