HCL Technologies (HCL) will buy-back shares worth Rs 35 billion. The company has proposed an offer for buyback of equity shares for cash at a price of Rs 1,000 a equity shares on a proportionate basis through tender offer process.
The buyback size represents 16.39% and 13.62% of the aggregate of the fully paid-up equity share capital and free reserves as per the standalone and consolidated audited accounts of the company for the financial year ended March 31, 2016.
Total volume of shares traded on the bourses today was lower by 91.93% to 190,897 compared with 22-day average volume of 2,364,272.
Shares of the company gained Rs 1.8, or 0.21%, to trade at Rs 856.80. The total volume of shares traded was 12,563 at the BSE (10.02 a.m., Thursday).
