Infrastructure major, Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) has been awarded a prestigious IGCAR (Indira Gandhi Center for Atomic Research) contract worth Rs 7.63 billion for construction of Fast Reactor Fuel Cycle facility at coastal city of Kalpakkam.
The scope of work includes construction of Nuclear Safety Compliant Structures for fuel processing plant for Fast Breeder Reactors and allied facilities including civil, electrical and mechanical works. The project is to be completed in 48 months.
Arun Karambelkar, President and CEO- E&C, HCC, said, "We are happy to receive this contract for building Fast Reactor Fuel Cycle facility at Kalpakkam. With our well experience team, we are confident of delivering this job on time with precision in quality, safety and state-of-the-art technology."
Shares of the company gained Rs 0.5, or 1.27%, to trade at Rs 39.90. The total volume of shares traded was 915,601 at the BSE (1.17 p.m., Monday).
