Eveready Industries India, a leader of dry cell batteries, announced that the company has commenced the commercial production (with a capacity of 500 million of batteries and 9 million LED flashlights per annum) at its new unit at Industrial Growth Centre, Matia, Goalpara, Assam.
Total volume of shares traded on the bourses today was lower by 76.02% to 16,549 compared with 22-day average volume of 69,000.
Eveready Industries India (formerly known as Union Carbide India) is engaged in the manufacture of dry cell batteries and flashlights. It also manufactures tea under the brands Tez, Jaago, Premium Gold and Classic and insect repellents under the brand Eveready Poweron. The company was founded in 1905 and is based in Kolkata, West Bengal.
Shares of the company gained Rs 0.95, or 0.38%, to trade at Rs 252.00. The total volume of shares traded was 5,082 at the BSE (9.52 a.m., Monday).
