ACC, one of the leading cement makers, has commissioned 1.35 million tonnes, Sindri Cement Grinding Unit in Jharkhand, which is a part of the Jamul Integrated Project and the commercial production has commenced on October 22, 2016.
The company is excepting that the two Cement Grinding Units in Jamul and at Sindri totaling 2.45 M.T p.a. will help strengthen the company's market presence in the Eastern Region.
The company disclosed a steep drop in consolidated net profit for the quarter ended September 2016. During the quarter, the profit of the company declined 28.85% to Rs 819.70 million from Rs 1,152.10 million in the same quarter previous year.
Revenues for the quarter declined 9.62% to Rs 25,214.50 million, compared with Rs 27,898.20 million for the prior year period.
Shares of the company gained Rs 6.9, or 0.44%, to trade at Rs 1,568.95. The total volume of shares traded was 19,153 at the BSE (1.01 p.m., Monday).
