Indian equities continued to gain for the second day on Friday. At 9.36 a.m, the Sensex was trading up 212.10 points or 0.66% at 32,394.32 with 22 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 48.85 points or 0.48% at 10,145.25 with 36 components gaining.

Major gainers in the 30-share index were Bharti Airtel (6.95%), Tata Steel (1.32%), ICICI Bank (1.18%), Cipla (1.16%), Tata Motors (1.09%), and Tata Consultancy Services (1.08%).

On the other hand, Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (0.45%), NTPC (0.31%), Dr Reddy'S Laboratories (0.23%), Hindustan Unilever (0.18%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (0.12%), and Kotak Mahindra Bank (0.06%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.

Market breadth was positive with 1,059 advances against 468 declines.

Ashiana Housing topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 269.70 million. It was followed by Reliance Industries (Rs. 170.60 million), Hatsun Agro Product (Rs. 142.77 million) and Bombay Dyeing and Manufacturing Company (Rs. 97.87 million).

The volume chart was led by Himachal Futuristic Communications with trades of over 1.90 million shares. It was followed by Ashiana Housing (1.45 million), Manappuram Finance (0.61 million) and Archit Organosys (0.55 million).
