Morepen Laboratories disclosed a sharp rise in standalone net profit for the quarter ended December 2015. During the quarter, the profit of the company rose 2.46 times to Rs 72.84 million from Rs 29.61 million in the same quarter last year.
Revenues for the quarter rose 9.77% to Rs 1,123.10 million, compared with Rs 1,023 million for the prior year period.
Operating margin for the quarter stood at 7.10 percent as compared to 5.31 percent for the previous year period. Operating Income for the quarter was Rs 79.69 million, compared with Rs 54.296 million in the previous year period.
Earnings per share for the quarter stood at Rs 0.16, registering 2.67 times growth over previous year period.

Shares of the company gained Rs 1.45, or 4.87%, to trade at Rs 31.20. The total volume of shares traded was 1,474,373 at the BSE (3.10 p.m., Monday).
