Exide Industries announced a good increase in consolidated net profit for the quarter ended March 2016. During the quarter, the profit of the company rose 27.54% to Rs 1.76 billion from Rs 1.38 billion in the same quarter last year.
Revenues for the quarter rose 7.67% to Rs 19.93 billion, compared with Rs 19 billion for the prior year period.
Operating margin for the quarter stood at 13.40% as compared to 12.86% for the previous year period. Operating Income for the quarter was Rs 2.67 billion, compared with Rs 2.38 billion in the previous year period.
Earnings per share for the quarter stood at Rs 2.09, registering 29.01% growth over previous year period.
Shares of the company gained Rs 1.75, or 1.19%, to settle at Rs 149.40. The total volume of shares traded was 350,965 at the BSE (Wednesday).
