Bata India disclosed a good increase in standalone net profit for the quarter ended March 2017. During the quarter, the profit of the company rose 27.30% to Rs 359 million from Rs 282 million in the same quarter last year. Revenues for the quarter rose 6.36% to Rs 6,102 million, compared with Rs 5,737 million for the prior year period.
Earnings per share for the quarter stood at Rs 2.80, registering 27.27% growth over previous year period.

Shares of the company gained Rs 4.5, or 0.79%, to settle at Rs 572.55. The total volume of shares traded was 43,571 at the BSE (Monday).
