ACC, one of the leading cement makers, announced a sharp rise in consolidated net profit for the quarter ended June 2016. During the quarter, the profit of the company rose 79.17% to Rs 2,391.20 million from Rs 1,334.60 million in the same quarter previous year.
Revenues for the quarter declined marginally 3.25% to Rs 29,172.30 million, compared with Rs 30,152.90 million for the prior year period.
Operating margin for the quarter stood at 15.68 percent as compared to 11.12 percent for the previous year period. Operating Income for the quarter was Rs 4,575.60 million, compared with Rs 3351.6 million in the previous year period.
Earnings per share for the quarter stood at Rs 12.70, registering 79.13% growth over previous year period.

Shares of the company gained Rs 10, or 0.6%, to trade at Rs 1,688.10. The total volume of shares traded was 61,113 at the BSE (2.13 p.m., Tuesday).
