Gold, silver futures settle lower as risky assets draw demand

Gold and Silver closed lower in futures market on Tuesday, extending the previous session's decline that followed the first round of France's presidential election.

Gold futures fell 10.30 dollars or 0.81 percent to close at USD 1,267.20 per troy ounce at the COMEX division of the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Silver futures declined 0.268 dollar or 1.5 percent to close at USD 17.62 per troy ounce at the COMEX.
