Gold and Silver settled higher in futures market on Monday to finish at their highest level in a month as demand for assets perceived as risky waned, and the dollar dropped in the wake of GOP leaders’ failure to repeal and replace Obamacare.

Gold futures gained 7.20 dollars or 0.58 percent to close at USD 1,255.70 per troy ounce at the COMEX division of the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Silver futures jumped 0.360 dollar or 2.03 percent to close at USD 18.08 per troy ounce at the COMEX.
