Gold, silver futures settle higher

Gold and Silver settled higher in futures market on Wednesday as news that two White House business advisory groups have disbanded, fueling haven demand and prompting a late-session turn higher for the yellow metal.

Gold futures went up 3.20 dollars or 0.25 percent to close at USD 1,277.90 per troy ounce at the COMEX division of the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Silver futures gained 0.226 dollar or 1.35 percent to close at USD 16.94 per troy ounce at the COMEX.
