Va Tech Wabag, engaged in the water treatment field, witnessed a rise in share price on Thursday after the company's consortium with Muhibbah Engineering (M), has bagged a contract worth Rs 15 billion from Malaysia's Petronas.
The contract is for the Re-FEED and engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETF) for PETRONAS' Refinery and Petrochemicals Integrated Development (RAPID) project in Pengerang, Johor, Malaysia.
Shares of the company are trading at Rs 709.95, up Rs 26.25, or 3.84% at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Thursday at 10:06 a.m.
The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs 735.35 and low of Rs 709.00. The total volume of shares traded at the BSE is 19,060.
Total volume of shares traded on the bourses today was higher by 289.76% to 138,840 compared with 22-day average volume of 35,622.
