DCM Shriram jumps on commissioning additional captive power generation capacity at Bharuch plant

DCM Shriram witnessed a sharp rise in share price on Thursday after the company has commissioned additional captive power generation capacity at its Chlor-alkali unit in Bharuch (Gujarat). The total coal based captive power generation at the Bharuch (Gujarat) unit now stands at 115 MW.

The increased power generation capacity will meet the power requirements of its Chloro-alkali unit at Bharuch (Gujarat) wherein the expansion of Chlor-alkali capacity to 1013 TPD was completed in October 2016.

Shares of DCM Shriram are trading at Rs 231.15, up Rs 12.55, or 5.74% at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Thursday at 10:09 a.m.

The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs 245 and low of Rs 227.30. The total volume of shares traded at the BSE is 8,535.

Total volume of shares traded on the bourses today was lower by 83.65% to 49,642 compared with 22-day average volume of 303,580.
