Wipro witnessed a rise in share price on Wednesday after the company disclosed a marginal rise in consolidated net profit for the quarter ended March 2017. During the quarter, the profit of the company rose 0.43% to Rs 22,670 million from Rs 22,573 million in the same quarter previous year. On sequential basis, the company registered up 7.20% in the net profit.
Revenues for the quarter rose 5.04% to Rs 150,338 million, compared with Rs 143,127 million for the prior year period.
Shares of Wipro are trading at Rs 505.65, up Rs 11.1, or 2.24% at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Wednesday at 9:33 a.m.
The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs 513.00 and low of Rs 497.50. The total volume of shares traded at the BSE is 374,052.
Total volume of shares traded on the bourses today was lower by 83.98% to 374,052 compared with 22-day average volume of 2,335,215.
