Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals witnessed a rise in share price on Wednesday after it announced a substantial rise in standalone net profit for the quarter ended March 2015. During the quarter, the profit of the company rose 48.81% to Rs 963.10 million from Rs 647.20 million in the same quarter previous year.
Revenues for the quarter declined marginally 1.81% to Rs 4,955.50 million, compared with Rs 5,046.90 million for the prior year period.
Shares of Gujarat Alkalies & Chemicals are trading at Rs 169.10, up Rs 4.45, or 2.70% at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Wednesday at 12:39 p.m.
Total volume of shares traded on the bourses today was higher by 159.57% to 61,637 compared with 22-day average volume of 23,746.
