Indian equities are trading in a lackluster manner on Thursday. At 10.28 a.m., the Sensex was trading down 21.64 points or 0.08% at 28,011.21. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 1.05 points or 0.01% at 8,383.35.
The Healthcare index climbed the most with a gain of 0.53% followed by IT (0.36%). On the other hand Consumer Durables dropped by 1.53%. SBI, ONGC, Sun Pharma and Hindalco were major gainers in the Sensex pack. On the other hand, BHEL, Tata Motors, Hero Motocorp and HDFC Bank were top losers in the benchmark index.
The BSE Midcap index was at 10,208.72 down by 1.88 points or by 0.02%. Overall market breadth was negative with 1,057 advances against 1,155 declines.
Shares of Indiabulls Securities witnessed a sharp rise of 7.60% after Indiabulls Distribution Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of the company has acquired India Land and Properties for a consideration of Rs 6 billion. India Land and Properties owns a commercial complex of 3 towers with a total constructed area of 2.4 million Sq. ft and leasable area of 2 million Sq. ft.
