Ashok Leyland bags orders for 2,100 buses from Tamil Nadu

Ashok Leyland, flagship of the Hinduja Group, today confirmed that it bagged an order from The Institute of Road Transport (IRT), Tamil Nadu for supply of 2000 Passenger Chassis and 100 of fully built Small Buses to various STUs in the state of Tamil Nadu. The order size is about Rs 3.21 billion. This order is scheduled to be supplied during the first half of 2018-19. 

Vinod K. Dasari, Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director, Ashok Leyland, said, "We are very happy to receive this order from The Institute of Road Transport (IRT), Tamil Nadu. We have had a long and proud partnership with IRT. We will continue our efforts towards their success."

Shares of the company gained Rs 2, or 1.37%, to trade at  Rs 147.85.  The total volume of shares traded  was  122,625 at the BSE (10.05 a.m., Wednesday).
