Bharat Heavy Electricals quarterly net soars 2.12 times

Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) disclosed a sharp rise in standalone net profit for the quarter ended March 2018. During the quarter, the profit of the company rose 2.12 times to Rs 4,571.70 million from Rs 2,155.50 million in the same quarter previous year.

 

Total Income for the quarter declined marginally 1.29% to Rs 103,415.80 million, compared with Rs 104,762.00 million for the prior year period.

 

 

Earnings per share for the quarter stood at Rs 1.25, registering 2.12 times growth over previous year period.

 

 

Shares of the company gained Rs 1.25, or 1.5%, to trade at Rs 84.85. The total volume of shares traded was 902,480 at the BSE (10.31 a.m., Wednesday).
