Torrent Power disclosed a sharp rise in consolidated net profit for the quarter ended June 2015. During the quarter, the profit of the company rose 2.01 times to Rs 1,734.80 million from Rs 862.40 million in the same quarter previous year.
Revenues for the quarter rose 17.18% to Rs 30,029.70 million, compared with Rs 25,627 million for the prior year period.
Operating margin for the quarter stood at 18.15 percent as compared to 10.76 percent for the previous year period. Operating Income for the quarter was Rs 5,450.20 million, compared with Rs 2758.5 million in the previous year period.
Earnings per share for the quarter stood at Rs 3.67, registering 2.01 times growth over previous year period.

Shares of the company gained Rs 15.05, or 10.12%, to settle at Rs 163.75. The total volume of shares traded was 581,251 at the BSE (Tuesday).
