Snapdeal.com has tied-up with Hero MotoCorp for selling of two-wheelers. The two-wheelers priced same as off-line dealerships, have attracted users attention with 700 bikes sold within 72 hours, with peak sales reaching 1 bike being sold every minute.

The tie-up between Snapdeal and Hero MotoCorp signifies the potential of e-commerce as a significant channel for automobile sales. Snapdeal.com was also the first online marketplace in India to sell four wheelers online. The Automobiles category is one of the most promising categories at Snapdeal.com and is expected to reach Rs 10 billion (GMV) in the near-term.

Shares of the Hero MotoCorp gained Rs 4.3, or 0.14%, to trade at Rs 3,066.20. The total volume of shares traded was 44,802 at the BSE (1.30 p.m., Thursday).
