Karnataka Bank, the private sector lender, on Tuesday posted a marginal rise of 0.22% in net profit for the third quarter.

The bank reported a net profit of Rs 1,069.40 million for the third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014 compared with Rs 1,067 million in the same period last year.

Total income for the quarter increased 17.07% to Rs 13.65 billion, compared with Rs 11.66 billion for the prior year period.

Shares of the bank declined Rs 3.45, or 2.33%, to settle at Rs 144.60. (Tuesday)
