Jindal Steel & Power, an Indian steel and energy company, has reported a growth of 38% in crude steel and DRI production to 1.10 million tons during April- June 2015.
Recently, the company's steel melting shop at Raigarh facility produced a record 10,000 tonnes of crude steel in a single day. This highest production based on DRI (Direct Reduced Iron) and hot metal is a testimony of the company's operational excellence in steel making.
The stock had underperformed the market over the past one month till Jul. 02, 2015, falling 32.65% compared with the Sensex's 2.79% rise. It underperformed the market in past one quarter, declining 40.16% as against 1.11% fall in the Sensex.
Shares of the company declined Rs 4.45, or 5%, to settle at Rs 84.60. The total volume of shares traded was 1,488,287 at the BSE (Friday).
