G A I L (India) disclosed a substantial drop in standalone net profit for the quarter ended March 2015. During the quarter, the profit of the company declined 47.46% to Rs 5,107.50 million from Rs 9,720.30 million in the same quarter previous year.
Analysts, on average, expected GAIL (India) to report a profit of Rs 6.67 billion, on revenue of Rs 41.55 billion.
Revenues for the quarter declined marginally 2.04% to Rs 142,706.20 million, compared with Rs 145,671.60 million for the prior year period.
Earnings per share for the quarter stood at Rs 4.03, registering 47.39% decline over previous year period.
