Exide Industries disclosed a sharp drop in standalone net profit for the quarter ended June 2015. During the quarter, the profit of the company declined 16.24% to Rs 1,552.00 million from Rs 1,853.00 million in the same quarter last year.
Revenues for the quarter declined 5.75% to Rs 17,995.30 million, compared with Rs 19,093.40 million for the prior year period.
Operating margin for the quarter stood at 12.74 percent as compared to 13.55 percent for the previous year period. Operating Income for the quarter was Rs 2,292.10 million, compared with Rs 2588 million in the previous year period.
Earnings per share for the quarter stood at Rs 1.83, registering 16.06% decline over previous year period.

Shares of the company gained Rs 1.65, or 1.15%, to settle at Rs 144.60. The total volume of shares traded was 438,923 at the BSE (Thursday).
