Bharat Gears swung to a profit for the quarter ended June 2015. During the quarter, the company reported a profit of Rs 13.90 million compared with a loss of Rs 49.40 million in the same quarter last year.
Revenues for the quarter rose 8.82% to Rs 1,074.20 million, compared with Rs 987 million for the prior year period.
Total expenses as a percent of revenues decreased to 94.77 percent from 101.43 percent in the same period last year. This has led to an improvement of 666 basis points in operating margin to 5.23 percent.
Operating margin for the quarter stood at positive 1.43 percent as compared to a negative 1.43 percent for the previous year period. Operating Income for the quarter was Rs 56.20 million, compared with an operating loss of Rs 14.10 million in the previous year period.
Earnings per share stood at Rs 1.78 compared with negative Rs 6.32 in the same quarter last year.
