Anjani Portland Cement swung to a profit for the quarter ended June 2015. During the quarter, the company reported a profit of Rs 67.11 million compared with a loss of Rs 96.57 million in the same quarter previous year.
Revenues for the quarter jumped 75.87% to Rs 877.53 million, compared with Rs 499 million for the prior year period.
Total expenses as a percent of revenues decreased to 85.24 percent from 104.48 percent in the same period last year. This has led to an improvement of 1924 basis points in operating margin to 14.76 percent.
Operating margin for the quarter stood at positive 4.48 percent as compared to a negative 4.48 percent for the previous year period. Operating Income for the quarter was Rs 129.52 million, compared with an operating loss of Rs 22.38 million in the previous year period.
Earnings per share stood at Rs 3.65 compared with negative Rs 5.25 in the same quarter last year.
