The market may edge higher in early trade on firm Asian stocks, says SMC Global.

''Asian stock markets opened mostly higher, following solid U.S. payroll data, while caution remained over the outlook for emerging-market economies.

U.S. stocks rallied into the close Wednesday, driven by gains in consumer discretionary, materials and health-care sectors. But the main indexes still ended the month and a quarter with steep losses.

As per provisional figures, foreign institutional investors (FIIs)/ Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) bought shares worth net Rs 1.16 billion on Sept.30, 2015. Domestic institutional investors bought shares worth Rs 1.91 billion on that day.''
